I bought one of your tubular heater, since it requires 230 volts I bought a converter to convert 110 to 220 volts but when I plug in the heater it won’t heat up!
Any suggestions why that is?

Hello, Have you tried using these on 110v? It won't damage the unit and should heat up ok...I wouldn't suggest using a step-up converter for these. thanks

On a 4ft model what is the area (square feet) that it heats up? Like a 5 x 5 tent
Electrical World Replies:

Hello Rick, a good rule in a domestic house is 10W per square foot. So a 240W heater should heat an area of 24 square feet. We would advise against using this product in a tent. Note also that these require a 240V AC mains supply. Thank you for your enquiry.

I bought 4ft and 3ft models are they still at 220v/240v or did you change it to 120v for U.S.????
Because the plugs are gone...

Hello, these units are 230V (as stated in the product listing). You can connect a suitable plug to suit the outlet in your own country provided that is acceptable to your local wiring regulations. However, we do stress that these products are designed to run from 230V mains supply. Thank you for your enquiry.

Does the heater come with a US plug?
Electrical World Replies:

Hello Steven, this heater is fitted with a 3 pin UK plug. You also need to be aware that it is designed to run from a 230V AC mains supply. It will operate on a 110V AC supply but will draw a larger current and the output will not be as good. Thank you for your enquiry.

Please can you describe the differences between the Tubular Heaters by Dimplex, Greenbrook and Eterna? Thanks
Electrical World Replies:
|
The Greenbrook and Eterna heaters are only really different by aesthetics because they are the same in the way they operate - they have an internal preset thermostat which cuts out which it gets up to temperature. The Dimplex one has the added benefit of a controllable thermostat on the end of the heater - which is pretty handy. Some people don't like the heater with the controllable thermostat because it can be altered easily; e.g., in a church or chapel, the thermostat may be moved by children.
