Is this suitable for dimmable light fitting? also is there a difference between halogen and halogen reflector?
Electrical World Replies:

Hello, a halogen reflector is usually for fittings which require heat to be dissipated downwards rather than out the back of the bulb. What type of fitting do you have?
thanks

How do you fit it in please..

The following guidance may help you but a lot can depend on your light fitting. To remove a bulb: first, make sure that the bulb is cool. Apply gentle inward pressure with both thumbs to the GU10 halogen bulb that is already screwed into place in your light fixture. Keeping your grip and pressure constant on the bulb with your thumbs as you turn it gently anticlockwise in its fitting. It should rotate a little less than 90 degrees before it reaches the point where it will not turn any further. At this point you can release the thumb pressure and pull the bulb straight out of its holder. Wiggle it gently as it comes out to make sure it comes out cleanly and be careful not to drop it. To put a new bulb in: press the new bulb inward into the socket, placing it into the same position as the old bulb was in when you withdrew it. Applying gentle inward pressure with your thumbs, rotate the bulb in its holder as far as it will go.

Will this bulb work if the replacement one was 40w 240v?
Electrical World Replies:
|
Hello Andy, I would be inclined to suggest using a lower wattage rather than a higher one unless you are certain that the fitting is designed for a 50W bulb. You could try the following 35W bulb: https://www.electricalworld.com/en/Status-35W-Halogen-GU10-Spotlight-Bulb/m-3441.aspx - thank you for your enquiry.
