The light-duty 3185Y cable is designed for use in domestic appliances, such as those often found in kitchens and offices, with a voltage rating of 300/500V. It is suitable for use with ordinary duty portable appliances such as radios, table lamps and office equipment where the potential for mechanical stresses and mechanical damage is low.
The 3185Y range is manufactured in accordance with BS EN 50525-2-11 and European harmonised standard H05VV-F (often misspelled as HO5VVF). Outside of Europe, the H05VVF cable is often called NYMHY cable.
