6181Y are flexible general wiring low voltage (LV) double insulated single-core PVC cable with a copper conductor offering light protection against mechanical damage. These are manufactured in accordance with British Standard BS6004 and are suitable for fixed installation with a voltage rating of 300/500V in dry or damp areas, for both domestic building and light industrial wiring. These cables are commonly referred to as double insulated cables, "Meter Tails" cables, or "Smart Meter" cables.
6181Y cables should be installed in an area with low risk of mechanical damage, in a tray, clipped onto a surface, or suspended in free air.
