I have the Hsa/pe model. I don’t want to replace the base which is already in place. Will this fit on the existing base?
Electrical World Replies:

Hello, this is the replacement model, as the HSA/PE has been discontinued. It should fit the existing base, as it is the direct replacement, thanks

Hi, I have a heat alarm installed. There is a red light flashing from time to time. What would be the reason for that? Do I press the test button? Do I have to change the battery? I should add that the alarms go off unnecessarily also in the middle of the night, so keen to get it sorted. Thanks

Hello, thanks for the question. The red indicator light flashes approx once a minute to indicate that the unit is working correctly and that the battery is healthy. If it is not flashing once a minute, the battery should be replaced. The instructions for replacing the battery are in the user manual in the product description.

Hello, thanks for the question. To replace the battery, turn off the AC power supply to the smoke alarm, then unlock the unit by pushing back the snap lock with a screwdriver and turning the unit clockwise to release it. The user manual in the product description has more detail.

Hi there, we have model HSA/10. It has started beeping and we have changed the back up battery and re-set however it is still beeping, does this mean the actual alarm needs changing? Not sure how long its been in as we only moved in 18 months ago. Thanks
Electrical World Replies:
|
Thanks for the enquiry - If the battery has been changed but it continues beeping it will mean its reached the end of its life.
We recommend it be replaced with the HSSA/PE - https://www.electricalworld.com/en/Hi-Spec-Mains-Smoke-Detector-with-9V-Battery-Backup/m-3141.aspx
If you require anything further please let us know.

Will this product fit the base o of hsa/10
Electrical World Replies:
|
Hello
HSSA/PE/FF does not require any additional base as the alarm comes complete with a fast fix base which also works as a pattress base for side cable entry.
This is not a replacement for HSA/IO. This model was discontinued around 5yrs ago. The nearest equivalent is HSSA/PE but this will need re-wiring into the system. This alarm comes complete with a fixing plate but you may need an additional pattress base – HSSA/PA.
Thanks

Is the advertised mains-powered photoelectric smoke alarm the Hispec model HSA/10?
How frequently would rather battery need changing?
Electrical World Replies:
|
This product is the HiSpec HSSA/PE which is a mains-powered unit with battery back-up. Used in this way, the battery should last for the "shelf life" quoted by the battery manufacturer. A battery with a 3-year shelf life should last for the full three years. Hoping this makes sense. Thank you for your enquiry.

is this model compatible with the ESDIBB model? In particular can it be fitted to the base of a ESDIBB unit?
Electrical World Replies:
|
Hello, thanks for question. We have asked the manufacturer and they say they have not tested this and therefore cannot say if it will or not. Technically it may work, but the base will definitely not fit.
