Hi, I have a heat alarm installed. There is a red light flashing from time to time. What would be the reason for that? Do I press the test button? Do I have to change the battery? I should add that the alarms go off unnecessarily also in the middle of the night, so keen to get it sorted. Thanks

Hello, thanks for the question. The red indicator light flashes approx once a minute to indicate that the unit is working correctly and that the battery is healthy. If it is not flashing once a minute, the battery should be replaced. The instructions for replacing the battery are in the user manual in the product description.

Hello, thanks for the question. To replace the battery, turn off the AC power supply to the smoke alarm, then unlock the unit by pushing back the snap lock with a screwdriver and turning the unit clockwise to release it. The user manual in the product description has more detail.

Hi there, we have model HSA/10. It has started beeping and we have changed the back up battery and re-set however it is still beeping, does this mean the actual alarm needs changing? Not sure how long its been in as we only moved in 18 months ago. Thanks

Thanks for the enquiry - If the battery has been changed but it continues beeping it will mean its reached the end of its life.

Hello
HSSA/PE/FF does not require any additional base as the alarm comes complete with a fast fix base which also works as a pattress base for side cable entry.
This is not a replacement for HSA/IO. This model was discontinued around 5yrs ago. The nearest equivalent is HSSA/PE but this will need re-wiring into the system. This alarm comes complete with a fixing plate but you may need an additional pattress base – HSSA/PA.

This product is the HiSpec HSSA/PE which is a mains-powered unit with battery back-up. Used in this way, the battery should last for the "shelf life" quoted by the battery manufacturer.
