We have a transformer that we need to replace (Eterna model JQ-ET70N 20-70VA)
Would this be a suitable replacement?

Hello, as long as you have the room for this transformer - it might be a little larger than the one you are replacing - it will work fine. Thank you for your enquiry.

The product in our listing is a slightly higher specification transformer but can be used to replace the Ring transformer you have described. Just check the size of this unit to make sure that it will fit, especially if you only have access via the down light itself. Thank you for your enquiry.

I notice this shows a sec of 11.3v or 9ac or something. My Halogen lamps are 12v is this ok to use. Just to mention I notice from searching a lot of transformers are only 11.something ac

Hello
This is perfect for 12V AC halogens - the main rating to check is to make sure that the VA is adequate. What wattage are you looking to run?
Thank you for your enquiry.

Hello Alan, if your lights have come with unique connectors specific to them I would suggest removing them - either way, you will be able to make the necessary connections using a product from this range: https://www.electricalworld.com/SearchResults.aspx?Search=wago - thank you for your enquiry.
