Would this product be a direct replacement for Silavent ptn mf001
Electrical World Replies:

Hello, MF001 is an old Silavent serial number, not a part number, which doesn't tell us what model it is. If you can get the part number, we will be able to help further, thanks.

We have an old silavent installed in the utility room - model DVF 703. Was wondering if this model is an equivalent replacement?
Thanks
Electrical World Replies:
|
Hello
No this fan would not be the equivalent of the DVF model as these are still being manufactured by Domus, the DVF are an in line range which are different to the SDF model which are extractors
Thanks

Hi.
Would this fan work if supplied off a 12v transformer?
Zone 1 reg requirement for selv.
Thanks
Electrical World Replies:
|
The Domus 4 Axial Extractor Bathroom Wall Ceiling Fan with Timer is typically designed to operate on a standard mains voltage of 230V. For use in Zone 1 of a bathroom, where SELV (Safety Extra Low Voltage) is required, a fan specifically designed for 12V operation should be used.
If your application requires a SELV fan operating off a 12V transformer, you should look for a fan model that explicitly supports 12V operation. The Domus fan mentioned is not suitable for conversion to 12V without appropriate modifications and safety considerations, which should only be done by a qualified electrician.
For more information, please contact our customer service team via live chat on the Electrical World website or consult an electrical specialist to ensure compliance with local regulations and safety standards.

I need a replacement for this fan, ideally the same fixings, certainly the same cent hole size. Ideally I would like one that prevents air blowing through from the outside. Does this fan meet those requirements? I don’t appear to able to post the picture in here
Electrical World Replies:
|
Hello Fran, you will need a fan with a backdraught shutter such as this one: https://www.electricalworld.com/en/Silavent-4-Axial-Extractor-Bathroom-Wall-Ceiling-Fan-Backdraught-Shutter-and-Timer/m-1509.aspx - thank you for your enquiry.
