At Electrical World we have a flexible returns policy and try our best to work with customers in all circumstances. Generally we allow 30 days from the date of the order for the goods to be returned.

We accept most returns automatically within 30 days from date of order. Items that will need checked prior to return include (custom cut-to-length items such as cable and items which have been used) - this is not a full list - to check if your item can be returned, do email/phone our customer service team and someone will be happy to help. If you are not happy with any item ordered, please let us know before using in order to be able to return. Failure to follow this may result in a return being rejected under policy. We expect all customers to read this information and follow the instructions prior to return.
Usually if you have made a mistake or would simply like to return an item you will be responsible for the carriage return cost. If We have made a mistake we will either collect the item or agree a cost with you for your return method.
IMPORTANT do not send an item back without prior agreement from us if you are expecting to get your return costs refunded.
For Cut to length products such as cable, trunking, rope etc (These products are only examples and not a complete list) we are unable to accept these back. If you are unsure if your item falls into this category please contact us via email prior to return. If you return these you will not get a refund. The item will be disposed of.
Sometimes we may ask you to send photographs, this will help speed up the process. Failure to provide these will usually mean the item will have to come back to be assessed first.
Please see below and how to return your item please choose from following options 1,2 or 3:
1.Items no longer wanted (including ordered by accident) - You are responsible to pay for the items return. Refund will be processed within 14 days of when item has been received back by ourselves. If you return the item back to us in satisfactory condition you will receive a refund in full. If the returned item is not deemed by ourselves to be in satisfactory and resell-able condition we will refund you an amount which we value the item to be worth.
2. Items which have arrived broken or incorrect. To make sure you get a full refund or replacement we must be notified of damaged or incorrect items within 24 hours of you receiving your order. If your item has been sent by courier and the packaging appears damaged you should sign to say this. Please let us know at this stage if you wish for a refund or a replacement. We will only send a replacement after we get the original item back. Your item must then be returned within 10 days.
IMPORTANT: You will need to contact us and agree via email the return method, sometimes we will organize or ask you to use a particular courier. The cost of this MUST be agreed prior to return. This is important as we will not be responsible for paying return costs which we have not agreed to.
Sometimes we may ask for a picture of the item.
3.Items which have developed a fault within the manufacturer's guarantee period.
You must make us aware of the fault as soon as possible via email providing us with as much information as possible. It will depend on the manufacturer if you will get a repair, Replacement or refund.
Sometimes we will ask for more information and pictures.
Some manufactures offer technical support. Sometimes we will ask you to contact them so they can help diagnose the issue and provide a RMA number if necessary.
Returning a item general info:
Make sure you package your item well before returning. No return packaging costs will be allowed for. You should return the item in the same box and packaging. Please note along with returns slip the reason for your return clearly.
Include your name and order number clearly on the outside of the parcel.
Refunds or replacements will be processed within 14 days of when item has been received back by ourselves. Refunds can take 3 Business days to process once we action them.
All the products we sell are covered by a manufacturers warranty, which will cover the product for faults and defects. This period of cover can vary, most items will be 1 year, but it is worth remembering that warranties do not cover general wear and tear. If you have an issue with a product purchased from Electrical World contact us first. Returned items with a warranty or repair issue should be clean and you will have to cover the postage cost back to Electrical World.
